Mono-a-mono can be used to enhance digital recording of old record, audio tapes or even cylinder recording, and etc. Mono-a-mono use a simple algorithm to remove the most obvious clicks and then filters out any components which are not present in a both left and right channels. In this way, almost all the audible surface noise can be removed. It’s work on sounds recorder in mono, but replayed and digitized in stereo. It produces a mono output as a close to the original (mono) source as possible. So its star with a mono signal, via a stereo recording and ends up as a mono file
